In a previous post, I traced Christendom’s roots in antisemitism and Islamophobia. Now, I will discuss how Christendom became Europe, Europe and Europeans became White and Whites became Western, in order to unmask how the Western mythology has allowed bigots to rise and seek to remake the world in their image.
What makes bigoted narratives compelling is their root in the Western intellectual tradition, the pub and the classroom share a basic idiom.

What recommends “non-White” is not that it represents a different idea from “people of color,” but that it makes it harder to mutilate public discourse by overusing the shared idea behind both of them.
Even though only 11% of Black students attend HBCUs, they produce 20% of Black bachelors degree recipients. 33% of Black doctorate holders in a STEM discipline and 50% of Black lawyers received their undergraduate education at an HBCU.
